The Doom War is the central cosmic conflict of Shadow Slave mythology. It pits the Seven Gods against a coalition of the Seven Daemons (except Weaver, who refused) and the Nine mortal Titans.
Trigger
Nether, last-born of the Daemons, was the first to reveal the gods' lie — the existence of the Forgotten God they had erased. Aletheia (First Seeker of the Nine) then uncovered what the Tomb of Ariel hid: the gods' Flaw. These two revelations triggered the war.
Highlights
- Eurys kills the Dragon (War God's avatar) in the Great Temple of the War Empire — the War God is absent for the entire conflict.
- Aletheia is corrupted and becomes the source of Defilement.
- In the end, the Divine Host captures Eurys.
- The pantheon is shattered but survives; the surviving Daemons retreat into their respective domains.
Legacy
The Doom War shaped the world Sunny discovers. The Cataclysm and the Spell are indirect consequences — the cosmic echo of a war no one was meant to finish.
