-
Sunny, an orphan from the outskirts, is infected by the Nightmare Spell. He survives his First Nightmare and receives a Divine-rank Aspect called Shadow Slave, an unprecedented event. He discovers his Flaw (Clear Conscience) and his first abilities before being sent to the Dream Realm.
-
Sunny arrives in the Dream Realm on the Forgotten Shore and joins the Dark City alongside Nephis and Cassie. They search for a way back to the real world while surviving Nightmare Creatures and the dangers of the Forgotten Shore. Sunny develops Shadow Dance and his combat abilities.
-
Sunny and the other survivors escape from the Forgotten Shore and return to the real world as Awakened. Sunny must adapt to human society, manage his secret identity, and navigate the intrigues of the Great Clans (Valor and Song). He establishes his Memory trading business under the alias Mongrel.
-
Sunny and his group enter the Second Nightmare through the Dark Seed located in the Ivory Tower, joined by a mysterious fifth challenger. Sunny finds himself in the Chained Isles thousands of years in the past, in a body that is not his own. He must survive the Colosseum and resolve the Nightmare's conflict around Hope, the Demon of Desire.
-
After becoming Ascended, Sunny searches for true strength. He gains fame as a lecturer at the Awakened Academy. Negotiations with clan Valor follow, and Jet offers him a spot in the Antarctica Campaign. Nephis' return shifts the balance, leading to a confrontation with Mordret at the Valor Clan ball and pushing Sunny to join the Antarctica Campaign.
-
Sunny and his companions venture into East Antarctica as the war between Song Clan and Valor Clan escalates. The power struggle between the two great factions accelerates while Sunny must navigate between camps and survive the growing threats from both the Dream Realm and the real world.
-
Sunny and his companions undertake their Third Nightmare. Sunny wakes up on a piece of driftwood on a massive river, encounters monstrous creatures, and finds Nephis on a turtle island. Together they travel the Great River and meet Ananke, a priestess of the Spell who reveals the history of the Great River, the gods and daemons, and the ancient path of ascension.
-
After the Third Nightmare, Sunny adapts to his new powers and the title of Lord of Shadows. He reveals his identity to Rain and prepares for the coming conflicts as the world descends into chaos. Tensions between human factions reach a breaking point.
-
Humanity's final war rages within the corpse of a fallen god. Two great armies, the Sword and the Song, clash for control of a dying world. Nephis and Sunny rise as the last hope of survival. Sunny attains Supremacy by killing himself, a symbolic and literal act of defiance against the laws of death. After their victory, Nephis is crowned ruler of the newly formed Human Domain.
-
In the aftermath of the Domain War, Sunny, now the Sovereign of Death, stands between myth and obscurity. He faces ancient oaths, untangles the cursed legacy of Weaver, and prepares his next move in a world teetering on collapse. From the Forgotten Shore to the Jade Palace, he is drawn into a lethal game of strategy and sacrifice in search of the fragments of Weaver's Lineage.
-
The eleventh volume is ongoing. Sunny, now the Sovereign of Death, returns to an ancient graveyard where he finds Eurys, a talkative immortal skeleton he once promised to kill. The arc continues to explore the aftermath of the Domain War and Sunny's fate against divine forces.
