Atlas

Geography

Shadow Slave's world is split between two geographies: the post-Cataclysm Waking World and the Dream Realm. No official map has been published by Guiltythree — what follows is a textual atlas based on canon, with links to community maps.

I

Waking World — post-Cataclysm real world

  1. Antarctica

    Vol. 5 — Vol. 8

Continent buried under ice in the post-Cataclysm world. Beneath the icy mantle, a secret stirs — the stage of the Antarctica Campaign. The real topographic map of Antarctica without ice (BedMachine v3, Nature 2025) serves as a reference to visualize the substrate Sunny explores.

  2. Human Citadels

    Vol. 1 — present

After the Cataclysm, humans withdrew into fortified Citadels — the last refuges against Nightmare Creatures. Ravenheart hosts the Ravenheart Clan and Crown Industry. Iron Hive is an industrial fortress city. Valor City houses the Awakened Society. Each Citadel is an enclave with its own laws, factions, and hierarchies of Sleepers and Awakened.

  3. Path of Memory

    Vol. 7+

Initiatic pathway linking the real world to the Dream Realm — the road Awakened travel to cross the border between worlds. The passage is guarded by the Lords of Memory and ancient memories of the pre-Cataclysm world.

II

Dream Realm — oneiric lands

  1. Forgotten Shore

    Vol. 1 — Vol. 2

The first ground of the Dream Realm that Sunny discovers. The Crimson Spire stands at the center, surrounded by the Labyrinth, the Dark City, and the Ashen Barrow. Six red crosses mark cardinal points. Most of the First Nightmare and the hunt for the Mountain King take place here.

  2. Tomb of Ariel

    Vol. 7

Sacred place hidden at the heart of the Dream Realm, stage of the Third Nightmare. In this tomb rest the remnants of Ariel, where Nephis inherits her Memory of Light. The passage is guarded by Saints and their Lineages.

  3. Great River

    Vol. 7 — Vol. 8

Immense river running through the Dream Realm — Sunny sails it with Nephis and Ananke after the Third Nightmare. Its waters carry fragmented memories of the prior world, and its banks are home to forgotten cities.

  4. Godgrave / Death Zone

    Vol. 8 — Vol. 9

Forbidden zone where the corpses of fallen gods rest. The Godgrave is the ultimate arena of the Domain War — where Sunny confronts the bearers of the Sword and the Song for mastery of a dying world.
